The Unexpected

Zac beat me in a 100 meter dash on a pier just off the Pacific ocean, I won't lose again.

Last week I worked in the San Francisco office, and while Zac wasn't talking to cute girls, Jr. Baywatch was getting their numbers.
Seriously though, it was great hanging with Hood for a week by the bay. Bonds almost hit a bomb, and Jessi Study Young waitresses at the Balboa Cafe.

After a chance encounter on a pier, Zac meets a security guard who was intrigued by the book Hood was reading. Hours later they've had coffee, and are discussing Sports Servants, Central America, and bold steps of faith. To my surpise, Zac was the student. Bold steps are infectious. Sometimes its not all about MacBooks, DVDs, Baby Blues, and blogs.

Last Saturday was our last mentor session for the school year in the Bronx. Mr. Nortey (alum of Morris, and Brown) who teaches at Morris spoke about love. Sure, you expect the people who are supposed to love you- your parents, family, and friends- to care for you. But what about when people who don't share your background, who you wouldn't normally share even a glance with- want a relationship? That's whats beautiful about Pedro, Eddie, and Elvin. That's whats beautiful about playing b-ball in a run-down gym listening to Clipse. That's what's beautiful about the Father's love. It's circular; he loves you, because he just loves. Not because you're greater, better looking, or richer. The people the world does not choose, God does.

Rematch Hood: Belize.
