Alright, I'm excited that my blog is finally up and rolling. First time blogger here. I remember checking out Hood's, Coach Fitz's, and Coach K's last year. It's good to be apart of the team!
I hope to check in now and again, and provide updates on what's going on as far as Sports Servants, my life, and just build momentum into my week in Belize.
No telling how this will read! My mind is pretty sporadic and I'm not a philosopher like Zac. But I do invite you to read, to serve, to donate, and to help be apart of something bigger than yourself.
How did I find myself in the middle of Sports Servants?
Well, I am fortunate enough to have been friends with Zac since my 7th grade year at MBA. It is because of Zac's faith, passion, and energy; not my own, that I am apart of this amazing experience. I remember when Zac first went to Belize on a spring break trip with the Wake Forest RUF group! I first thought how bold, and was jealous that he was hanging out with Garrett Lathan (RUF intern and close friend of mine from TX). It began as a wild thought, mere what if... situation. The more we talked, the more he felt unequipped, and that's all he needed for the challenge ahead of him. And to see the fruit of his labor today can only be God's work.
I am proud to serve next to him this summer. By the way, I love wearing the baby blue wristband around corporate America and sharing Zac's story with everyone I meet, and I encourage you to do the same. More stories to come...

About Me
Sports Servants Role
Well... I am sure my role will be more of a utility player, constantly taking orders from the Z Train aka "Jr. Baywatch." I can't wait to play soccer, and just love on the kids of Belize. I used to be a mean "striker" in junior high, so Coach K watch out! I look forward to the relationships that will form, and see lives transformed and empowered. I was a Sports Servants All-American in SS's '06 rookie year, and can't wait to take the field in this sophomore '07 summer season. I will be taking corner kicks and headers from June 30th to July 7th.
Local
I live in New York, but am originally from Nashville, Tennessee. I attended the University of Texas at Austin and somehow got out of the state of Texas... I didn't know that was possible. I'll be back.
Work
I have worked at Standard and Poor's for the past two years. I am a public finance ratings analyst for the southwest region, rating muni-bonds (mostly school districts and small cities).
Play
I love to play basketball, go to concerts, travel, and eat. I'll watch anything that has to do with the University of Texas... V Young, TJ Ford, Kevin Durant, and Colt McCoy. I love being immersed in a culture different than mine, and can't wait to experience Belize.
Serve
I mentor Eddie and Pedro, who are high school students at Morris Academy in the Bronx. I learned of the Morris Academy Mentor program through Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York. Tim Keller is the man. Pedro will be attending Stony Brook University in the fall on a full scholarship! I coached a YMCA basketball team the 1st year I was in NY (6-1 until the season was ended due to violence).
